James V Cockerham is #Flyah

JAMES VINSON COCKERHAM
Atlanta African American composer, James Vinson Cockerham, grew up in Wilkesboro, NC. His mother was a domestic worker for three generations of judges and the towns newspaper publisher. His father worked for Southern Railway. He was fourth of six children.
Cockerham began his musical training in the third grade. His learning continued in the Lincoln Heights Elementary and High School Band and Chorus. James learned to play keyboard instruments. When he was young, his family could not afford piano lessons, so he borrowed music books from his cousins and taught himself to read them. He played by ear and directed his first choir when he was in the seventh grade. His oldest brother and sister moved to New York and they would bring jazz and gospel albums home when they visited. He was in middle school when he learned to play gospel and jazz. His older brother, Harry, allowed him to tag along as they played the Top 40, R&B, blues and jazz music from the 1960s and 1970s in clubs.
James attended Livingstone College and earned a BA degree in Sociology. He played for The Prayer Meeting Choir and for various performing groups on campus. He also played in rock & roll, pop, blues and rock bands while in high school and college. This involvement helped him develop an appreciation for many musical styles and genres.
His first single was recorded in 1970. Also, his first album was recorded with The Rickard’s Chapel AME Zion Choir in 1970. Cockerham, as a composer, playwright and recording artist, has recorded six albums, four CDs and written four musical stage productions. His works have been performed by Academy Award nominated Ruby Dee Davis, Ossie Davis, Q. Parker of the R&B group “112,” PJ Morton who is now part of the “Maroon Five Band,” John Patton of the movie, “The Color Purple,” Chantae Cann who recorded with “Snarky Puppy,” The DeKalb Symphony Orchestra and many others.
Instrumental jazz trumpeter, Keyon Harrold; Coloratura soprano, Arietha Lockhart; and Deacon Herman Pate are featured on Cockerham’s latest 2015 work, Be Still and Know, a CD with traditional orchestral arrangements of some of Cockerham’s favorite hymns. James says, “I love the hymns of the church. These melodies have been around for centuries and they are just as beautiful today as they were yesterday.”
James received a Master’s Certificate in Orchestration for Film and TV from Berklee College of Music in Boston at the young age of sixty-five. Most of his recordings are gospel music. However, after forty-five years in the music industry, he will soon release a series of single projects to broaden his audience. Some of the new song titles are: How Do You Hate in the Name of Love; Thank You for the Rain; Different Kinds; This is My House; and Memories of Yesterday.
There is more music to come from James V. Cockerham. Listen.

Big Lo Is #Flyah

James "Big Lo" Lopez is a Spanish-American emcee and producer now residing in Pensacola, FL. Big Lo is primarily known for his hardcore lyricism and sample-heavy boom-bap production that is reminiscent of mid 90s acts such as Wu-Tang Clan and Boot Camp Clik. However, Lo's high energy stage show coupled with strong wit and contemporary references makes his sound eagerly accepted by all audiences.
Although Big Lo has been releasing music and performing live for over a decade now, 2012 and 2013 have earned him the buzz he has today. Just in that short time Lo has had the opportunity to open up for Geto Boys, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Slum Village, Rapper Big Pooh, Mobb Deep, Curren$y, Lil Kim, and Nappy Roots as well as playing the Vans Warped Tour in Orlando, Fl. Additionally, he toured the East Coast twice, including stops in Tallahassee, Pensacola, Mobile, Panama City, Gainesville, Baltimore, Richmond, Nashville, Charlotte, Savannah, Washington DC, Trenton, Hartford, New Bedford, Manchester, and Portland.
2013 also saw the release of Big Lo's most successful independent album, "Magnum Opiates". Rap Con Queso went so far as comparing "Magnum Opiates" to Raekwon's legendary "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx".
Big Lo has also released a number of videos via YouTube which have earned him over 44k views (at the time of this writing), has notable collaborations with Vast Aire, Tonedeff, Beretta 9 of Killarmy and J. YULIANNA is Flyah

YULIANNA
http://www.yulianna.com/
Yulianna, can only be described as the voice of a generation. Her unbridled talent has exhibited itself effortlessly in each endeavored; from her award winning vocal and violin performances in her youth, where she won back-to-back competitions in the Applause Young Artists Showcase, to where she stands now on the brink of pop-stardom with her up-coming album, there’s no denying her immense talent. Yulianna attended the California Institute of the Arts, immersing herself in a wide variety of songwriting styles and genres from baroque to jazz and pop; she took her time studying under a vast network of highly regarded singers, composers and songwriters that inspired her to pursue her dreams. Not surprisingly, she built up a network of creative minds that she began to work with, including; Peter Rafelson (Jackson Browne, Elton John), Dave Aude(Coldplay, U2), and Carmen Rizzo (Seal, Dido) as she set out to write and develop songs for various projects.
Not long after earning her Masters degree she set to work on her first album, Race Car, with help from Grammy-nominated producer Robin Nixon.  Directed by Academy Award-winning director Waleed Moursi, the video “Race Car” won Best Music Video at the Colorado Film Festival, the first of many achievements for Yulianna. With stellar performances at renowned venues like the World Disney Concert Hall, the Sundance Film Festival, as well as famous Los Angeles venues like the Viper Room, the Key Club and The Mint Room; there has never been any doubt that she’s on her way to an amazing career that included a consistently growing list of accomplishments.

Her biggest hit to date has been the epic collaboration between herself and Grammy-winning produced, Walter Afanasieff (Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera) and lyricist Lindy Robbins (Faith Hill, Selena Gomez), entitled “Forgiveness.”  It’s an ethereal and stunning display of Yulianna’s vocal prowess, as well as a showcase for her talents as a burgeoning songwriter. The song and coinciding video garnered an incredible buzz with over a million views on YouTube, even being submitted for Best Instrumental Arrangement with Accompany Vocals for the 55th Annual Grammy Awards in 2012. The explosive video won a myriad of awards including Best Music Video at both the Naperville Film Festival (NIFF) and the Las Vegas Film Festival (LVFF); while the single itself has seen radio play internationally on major FM stations such as Los Angeles’ KDAY and Las Vegas’ KCEP as well as London’s ChoiceFM. The critical acclaim of “Forgiveness” was the perfect jumping off point for future collaborations and the ultimate release of her first major dance/pop album.

Yulianna’s first full-length dance album, “Californ-i-a,” was entirely written and produced by herself and established writer/producers RAS(The Wanted, Jordin Sparks, Big Time Rush) and Spencer Nezey (Electropop, Jupiter Rising). Yulianna’s friendships with stellar musicians have allowed her to have Grammy Nominated guitarist John Brown welcomed into the fold, creating stifling hot backdrop to her operatic, powerhouse vocals infused into pop music perfection in much the same way Mariah Carey has done. The album possesses influences from every genre, from the hard hitting, club-banging beats of Rihanna to the self-affirming, synth-infused pop of Lady Gaga. Throw in a touch of old-school hip-hop and even a bumping reggae-esque track, Yulianna has taken her vast knowledge of music and incorporated it into an absolutely unique album that speaks to who she is. It’s not surprising that with influences spanning a variety of artists from Celine Dion to Freddie Mercury and Madonna, she would find a way to incorporate everything into a well-crafted dance album that demands the listeners attention from start to finish.  Set to be released in January of 2013, “Californ-i-a” is an inspiring and eclectic mix of pop tunes that is sure to usher in the age of Yulianna. Keep your eyes and ears tuned in to watch as she sets off on this new and exciting chapter of an already

Alli is #Flyah

Alli was born in Laurel, Maryland in 1996.  She started singing at the age of three and was writing short stories at the age of five.  Soon thereafter, she began writing poetry.  Through her creativity, she developed a passion for writing songs, and she would practice daily to memorize her songs so that she could perform in front of her family.
As the years went by, Alli's mother saw her daugher's natural talent develop as well as her dedication to her craft.  At the age of 10, Alli's mother decided to test her gift and expand her musical talent by getting her a keyboard.  Alli taught herself to play, as it gave her another channel to develop her music writing skills.  Her first song written on the keyboard was called "Too Late".  Her main influences at this age were Amy Lee of Evanescence, Alicia Keys, and Pink.  Alli says that lyrics have always been her most creative expression because words can always depict emotion to the listener, despite the music involved with it.
To challenge her limits even further, Alli received her first guitar when she turned 13.  Alli was fearless as she taught herself to play another instrument.  Alli experienced heartache and pain during this time, due to her parent's divorce.  She found it hard to explain how she was feeling in normal conversation, but it was always so easy to write a song that expressed her emotions.  Even though her vocal and musical talents became her "coping mechanism", she was determined to stay focused and devoted to her craft.
Alli met her producer, D'Aceman Johnson, when she was 14, and he immediately recognized her talent and potential to be a successful music artist.  Since then, they have worked relentlessly in the studio to start making her dream of being a singer, a realtiy.  With the help and mentoring of D'Aceman Johnson, Alli has continued to develop her talents.  In addition, she has done three years of School Open Mic Performances, she had a supporting role in a school play titled, "The Man Who Came to Dinner", participated in School Talent Shows, and performed at various receptions and social events.
Alli's sound is a fusion of Pop, R & B, Hip-Hop, and Jazz.  Her sound is found to be captivating to her listeners.  Her creative concept to her music is more than just an emotional outlet, but a means for her to showcase her passion for music.  Her dream is to move people through song and to develop a fan base that will connect with her music.  Alli says she has been blessed with the gift of music, but it is not her own.  It is to be shared with all who will listen, and maybe, she will be able to help someone or save a life, like music has saved hers.

madelyniris is #Flyah

Artist Name: madelyniris http://madelyniris.bandcamp.com Members: Madelyn Munsell (age 21), songwriter, producer, vocals, instrumentation From St. Louis, MO Genre: Indie Pop Music available at iTunes, Bandcamp, and Soundcloud, Youtube  Stats: over 100,000 combined plays, 5000+ facebook and 1200+ twitter followers
madelyniris’ story – You might catch indie pop artist madelyniris at the opera on a Saturday night -- not as a spectator, but as a performer.  She has a rare gift only a few on this planet have – she can sing a high A flat. She’s already won vocal competitions while singing some of the most demanding soprano parts in opera.
But her classical voice teachers raise their brow when she describes her passion for writing, producing and performing indie pop music.  “I’m a hybrid,” she claims, one foot firmly in the classical world, and the other dancing to the beat of indie music.  Madelyn, 21, says her parents are to blame for the dichotomy. Her dad influenced her in modern and post rock, while her mother, a classically-trained vocalist, pianist and choir director, passed on the powerful classical influence in her life. “She introduced me to the chord progressions and melodies that will make your knees weak and bring you to tears.”
While her pop music might be described as pretty, on second listen, you’ll recognize the complexity and darkness that lies beneath. She describes, “People will be grooving along and then they hit that dissonant chord or unique harmony and will recognize this is a little more complex to the palette, and requires a deeper listening. I can’t let you get by with just the good stuff”, she smiles.
When asked about what inspired the collection of songs on “Adventures”, Madelyn replied “Honestly, summer 2014 was my biggest inspiration. I was able to travel the world, discover new people and new ways of thinking, and find myself. But in addition to that, this summer also consisted of a lot of nostalgia; love lost, if you will. This summer I came to this beautiful, happy place of resolution in my life. I relived a lot of my past. I discovered that it is good to hold on to happy memories, as long as those memories drive you forward in life rather than hold you back. "Adventures" is optimism, independence, and anticynicism.”
Madelyn is also passionate about women taking control of their own music. "Adventures," as an EP, is me taking charge and no longer sitting in the backseat. As a woman, other musicians do not expect me to make my own instrumentals or mix my own music. Especially in pop music. This is me saying: "Hey, music industry, women are not just pretty faces and pretty voices. We have a lot more musical direction than you are willing to give us credit for." But as a concept, "Adventures" is about actually living, and living honestly with yourself and the world around you, with a bit of young budding existentialism in there.”

EMORY FORBES is #Flyah

Emory Forbes a.k.a. Steven Sutton was born in Baltimore, MD on February 27, 1990. Introduced to the art of hip hop at the age of 12, he soon began to master the freestyle. At the age of 19 Emory Forbes enlisted in the US military and moved to Lompoc CA. It was there where a mutual friend introduced him to legendary producer Reckah (Rex Lee). Together they created Emory's debut project, and one of the best mixtape releases of 2011, "Live From The Bottom", which received high praise from many independent outlets. While still focusing on his music, he began to branch out into theatrical and cinema performance. For much of 2012, Mr. Forbes showed off his acting skills in live stage productions. This artist is so diverse;he can be described as a “renaissance man”.

EMORY FORBES SHIFTS GEARS INTO “PRIUS MODE”

The “Prius Mode” single and music video are a sneak-peek at the upcoming album release from multi-dimensional hip-hop artist Emory Forbes.
(BALTIMORE, MARYLAND, U.S.A.) APRIL 4th, 2015 – You won’t see Emory Forbes wearing a golden ‘Toyota’ emblem and necklace. Emory ForbesAfter all, that’s not what it means to be in “Prius Mode.” Singer, artist, and actor Emory Forbes’ latest single is called “Prius Mode.” However, this is not just a song – but more a stylistic state of mind for this Baltimore native. With his new track and accompanying music video, Emory Forbes is shifting gears into “Prius Mode.” He is introducing his style via a song – all while explaining its mantra and meaning to a new group of growing fans.
The song’s lyrics tell the tale as the track begins, “It’s like everybody want Bugattis and Maybachs – I’m the only rapper in the Prius Mode.” The single creatively and cleverly compares the efficiency of the Toyota Prius as a vehicle to Emory’s own artistic diversity and efficiency.
“Prius Mode” is the first release from Emory’s forthcoming album self-titled, Emory Forbes, which is due out later in 2015. Emory Forbes will be a follow-up to the highly-successful 2011 debut of the mixtape entitled, Live from the Bottom. Since 2011, Forbes has been working non-stop in the studio on new material, as well as developing a burgeoning acting career that includes both theater and cinema. Forbes’ upcoming album will also display his multi-faceted mix of talents, which include rapping, as well as vocal performances. The CD will contain several hip-hop based tracks, yet also some selections of urban and R&B flavored mixes.
Instead of “fronting,” Emory is right out front in the official music video for “Prius Mode.” Makaih Beats produced the single and Steven Q. Speilberg directed the music video. In “Prius Mode,” Forbes not only takes a few jabs at some of the overdone thematic hip-hop elements, at the same time, but also explains why he is different. In the end, the song offers a bit of a biographical view of Emory and his artistic outlook. It’s been a long road for this young, rising artist and actor – However, he’s built for high mileage and durability - after all – he’s in “Prius Mode.”

Lisa Coppola is #Flyah

LISA COPPOLA is a dedicated, ambitious and gifted singer/songwriter.  A life long Jersey Girl with a four and a half octave vocal range, Lisa has a passion for music and has developed a style that blurs the lines between love-gone-bad country and heartfelt, confrontational rock.

Performing since she was 16, Lisa began her professional career immediately after high school with the The Party Dolls, a very popular, long running New Jersey party band fronted by three women.  At the same time, she set out to be a solo artist but soon formed the band Broad with John Zonars, musical coordinator for Saturday Night Live.  Their album BROAD: HUMAN CONFLICT (ArtBeat Records distributed by BMG/Aris) enjoyed a string of successes in Europe.  Broad did a media/concert tour of Germany in support the record and were received with open arms by extremely enthusiastic German audiences.  Back home, BROAD became a hot New York live act, playing regularly at Manhattan’s Brownies, A/k/a, Spiral, The Bitter End as well as appearing at the World Cup Tournament at Giants Stadium.

A Rose By Any Other Name, Lisa’s debut solo album came in late 2001.  Released on indie label Any Other Name Records, Lisa co-wrote six of the tracks featured on the album.

2008 saw the release of a Contemporary Country Rock EP, Wisdom from the Pain. Lisa co-wrote the title track with Mark Conklin and former Spin Doctor Anthony Krizan. Other tracks were co-written by John Waite, who featured the song "When You Were Mine" on the front page of his official European John Waite fan site.

Not just a songwriter writing solely for herself, LISA co-wrote "You Were Mine" with Mike Walsh on his band Departure's album entitled "Open Your Mind" selling over 40,000 copies in the UK and Japan combined (Escape Music.)

Lisa’s performing credits include backing vocals with Billy Joel on Saturday Night Live (“River of Dreams” and “All About Soul’) as well as Billy’s "All About Soul" video.  She has sung with Pat Dinizio (The Smithereens), Marshall Crenshaw, John Eddie, Glen Burtnik (Styx), and Mitch Malloy. She has opened for acts like the Smother’s Brothers and The Charlie Daniels Band and performed as a member of all female Beatles tribute The Sheatles, Heart tribute Queens of Heart Band and 1980s party rock band Atomic Mary.  She performs regularly with RB3: The Red Bank Blues Band.

An album of new songs is in the works, to be released later in 2015. The initial tracks are sounding like alt-country-blues, but the recording could go in any direction.  Stay tuned…

Chop Suzy is #Flyah

In a world of sorrow, despair, and a lot of other bad things, Chop Suzy is here to make things better. A three headed monster that has been put on this planet to chew up the bad, spit it out, chew it up again, swallow it down and dispose of it for all eternity paving the way for good times and celebration the likes of which have never been seen.

Beau Girardeau

With hands equal to those of a magician, Beau Girardeau's slight of hand mastery of the guitar will leave you in utter amazement. His electric wizardry coupled with a voice and face sent from heaven will have you asking yourself one question: How can a man so beautiful rock so hard? The answer is simple, my friends. Beau Girardeau is from the 4th dimension. It is a place that doesn't exist, but yet, it must. Because nothing in this world, the world that you and I are a part of, could ever produce a man like Beau Girardeau. He is all that is and all that will be. See it. Believe it. Be it.

Manual Automatic

The King of Bass will rule over his mighty kingdom with a bottom heavy hand and banish the weak. Those with no will to rock and no will to roll shall be cast out with brute force. This is the law of the land. Abide or be punished with a thunderous assault of vibrations that will split your brain in two and cause your ears to overdose on the sheer joy they will experience. His majesty treats all who seek shelter in the kingdom to throbbing pulsations and pounding rhythms that bring mere mortals to their knees in a show of gratitude. This is his quest. This is his vow. This is his life.

Tony Turbo

Armed with sticks of dynamite used to beat down a mountain made of cannons, Tony Turbo is the only living being whose ancestors can be traced all the way back to the days of cavemen. Possessed by his primitive instincts, he hears the call of the wild and answers it with reckless abandon and a fearlessness that parallels that of the mighty lion. His beat can be heard beyond the sun and will last until the end of time. He is fueled by a potent mixture of blood, sweat and beer which spells danger for those who dare cross his path. You have been warned.

With an unprecedented display of pure rock, Chop Suzy goes above and beyond the call of duty. Never in the history of rock 'n' roll has there been a band like this one. Their music is created with one thought in mind: to rock harder than anything that has rocked in the entire existence of rock. Discover their greatness and claim it as your own.

This is Chop Suzy.

Corey El is #Flyah

Artist Biography
Corey El
Songwriter, producer, singer and all-around musical phenom Corey El handcrafts multidimensional songs that sparkle with contagious melodies, playful beats and razor-sharp lyrics. Each of his originals is an auditory time capsule that plunges listeners into his own memories and experiences, energized by the very essence of life:  self-discovery; love and daring to let one’s own authentic colors shine. With a soulful wisdom far beyond his years and his finger on the pulse of his generation, Corey El lends a fresh perspective to decades’ worth of musical styles, inspired by the pioneering sounds of pop, R&B and urban music gurus such as B. Slade (Anthony Williams II), Kanye West and Michael Jackson.
The son of dexterous professional multi-instrumentalist Carl Lester-El, a young Corey El knew instantly how music can impact moods, viewpoints and connect people’s hearts and minds on a global scale. Because of his natural ear for a multitude of melodies and grooveshe was able to express himself instantly through singing. His father taught him how to track on a Casio keyboard, and as soon as he learned to write, he was making his own fully-formed tunes. By the time he was a teenager, he was already producing, writing and arranging for local artists in the studio, and he eventually felt the pull to focus on creating his own original work
Now, Corey El continues to experiment with exciting melodic flavors, sounds, poetry and stories as he invents new ways to grow and express himself. A multi-talented and self-contained artisthe has already put out several singles via YouTube and streaming sites and created videos giving insight into his creative process. His new, empowering single, “Nothing Like You” encourages others to stay true to their authentic selves even when faced with bullies who try to limit their dreams.

T-Zank is #Flyah

T-Zank is committed to making an impact not only through his music, but also through his brand and message. He has dealt with personal shortcomings, doubt, and health issues that have threatened his ability to make music. However, his drive, perseverance, and a refusal to succumb to negativity has motivated T-Zank to come out on top every time. The message in his music is one that everyone can relate to: Move forward with what you truly love and never quit.
T-Zank has shared the stage with several notable acts including Tech N9ne, Machine Gun Kelly, Rittz and Taylor Gang. He has developed strong relationships with numerous promoters, A&R's, and program coordinators throughout the country. In fact, through such relationships, he has been able to secure placements for his music on shows such as House of Lies, a Showtime hit series. T-Zank recently released a new album, Authority of the Soul, built upon the concept of the human soul and realizing its potential in a lifetime.
More than anything, T-Zank is known for his coordinated and high-energy performances and his ability to connect with crowds. He brings the same passion to each performance whether it is for a sold out audience or a group of local fans.
The basic building blocks for his work are simple: lyrical and message-driven raps as well as regional pride. While having a good time is always among the top priorities for T-Zank and his crew, the foundational goal is social consciousness—writing music that reflects the very real problems faced by everyday citizens. Zank has developed a strong ear for trends within the genre of conscious and urban music and is dedicated to writing music that is not only relevant to the times, but leaves an imprint on all listeners.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 13th, 2015
T-Zank Releases His Third Professional Studio Album Marked with Passion, Uniqueness & Depth.
Hip-hop recording artist T-Zank recently released a new album entitled “Authority of the Soul,” available now for free download and stream via Amazon Music and SoundCloud. The new project follows a successful 2014 album release, Evolve, which was backed by a tour, several national media appearances and further collaboration with the Successful Musik Group. “We’re really excited about how this project ended up.” said Zank. “Most importantly, we at Successful Musik make sure that the purpose of our projects is driven by the people that we are and the beliefs that we represent. With this project specifically, we experimented with a variety of emotional production styles and worked toward a new sound for all of us that landed well with the overall concept we were trying to achieve. We went in some new directions creatively and pushed a message driven by the question of what the soul is and what we are capable of as human beings if we realize exactly what our soul represents.”
“Authority of the Soul” is marked with the underlying themes that although we are capable of controlling our destiny, it is only after realizing and fighting to assert such power that we gain the right to awaken and realize it. “We have consistently been impressed with Zank’s work in the past, but we are especially proud of this project and the direction he took lyrically and message wise,” remarked David Sentongo, founder of Successful Musik. “It is a true expression not only of Zank’s growth as an artist, but also in his thought process and positive ideologies in reference to human capability.” Some notable singles from the album include Hungry Featuring Strange Music’s Stevie Stone, Patience, Keep it Rollin, and Control. T will be embarking on a nationwide tour with fellow Successful Musik artist, e3, between June and August of this year to promote the release of the album.  Official announcement of the dates and exact locations will be given as we get closer to the start date of the run. Hardcopies of #AOTS will be available in the Amazon Music store in the near future. Before then, email mail@t-zank.com for more information about how you can get your physical copy

Leilani The Artist is #Flyah

Leilani The Artist hits hard with the release of her first album "Love Rain Down". The album includes power ballads, indie rock, and pop songs all packed with layered guitar work, lush vocal harmonies, and a whole lotta heart.

The first single and title track from the album "Love Rain Down", is a distinct and anthemic song that walks the line between genres but holds true to its pop rock roots.

"Love Rain Down is a song about hope even in the midst of despair. It is about coming through a really dark time and finding the light on the other side. It is about how if you open yourself up to the universe, it can fill you with hope and happiness and love." says Leilani of the single.

Although the single speaks volumes for the album, to get the full understanding and feel, it must be heard in its entirety. While the album is cohesive, Leilani worked on each song, giving each it's own unique character. Working this way essentially allowed her to focus on the song its self rather than the entire album at once in order to give each one her absolute best. The Love Rain Down album is a combination of new and old songs all written by Leilani.

Leilani is also known for her artwork, paintings, and graphic design. She did the original artwork for Love Rain Down.
